About us
Research at GIGA – CRC (Cyclotron Research Center) Human Imaging covers a broad spectrum of In Vivo imaging, from radiopharmaceutical production to cutting-edge techniques like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and electrophysiology. Projects involving animal models focus on key areas such as brain function, cancer, cardiology, and the development of new therapies. In humans, the emphasis is on understanding the biological mechanisms related to sleep, mood, addiction, cognitive functions (including memory, attention, and executive processes), movement, consciousness, and associated disorders such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, and altered states of consciousness.
